3C05 Election on June 10, 2020 – Cancelled
ANC 3C tentatively scheduled a replacement election to fill the 3C05 vacancy for June 10. We have cancelled the election and regretfully informed the two candidates: Trish Berman and Sauleh Siddiqui.
Mayor Bowser extended the prohibition on gatherings of 10 or more people to July 24. That means that ANC 3C cannot resume public in-person meetings, and must continue to meet virtually. A replacement election must be conducted during a public ANC meeting and must be completed within 90 days of the vacancy being officially announced. The deadline for this vacancy to be filled is June 11.
Its very important that every resident of ANC 3C have representation. We worked with the Office of ANCs to ensure that the replacement election could go forward, even after the Council approved emergency legislation barring any replacement elections for vacancies occurring during the public health emergency. But, the election was always contingent on complying with the Mayor’s order and protecting the safety and health of 3C05 residents, the candidates, and the public who attend ANC meetings.
ANC commissioners throughout the city will be elected or re-elected on November 2 and will take office in January 2021. In the meantime, I will be available to help any 3C05 residents with concerns or issues and will be presenting any 3C05 regulatory applications to the ANC for review. I know all of the 3C commissioners would like to be as helpful as we can to 3C05 residents, so please reach out to any commissioner for assistance. Our contact information is on the commissioner tab of anc3c.org website.
