Special Election for ANC 3C 04 Commissioner
There will be a special election to fill the vacancy in ANC 3C 04. The election will be held during the ANC 3C regular monthly public meeting on Monday, June 16, 2008 at the Second District Police Station. The candidates are Josh Hart, 2801 Quebec St., Apt. 611, and Carol Phelps, 2711 Ordway St., Apt. 16. A candidate's forum will begin at 7PM with opening statements, followed by questions from the floor, and ending no later than 7:25PM with closing statements. Voting will begin at 7PM and end at 8:15PM. Since electioneering is not allowed in the polling place, no signs or electioneering of any kind will be allowed in the Second District Police Station. Electioneering is allowed outside the building. The election results will be announced during the ANC 3C meeting.
Gottlieb Simon, Exec. Director, Office of Advisory Neighborhood Commissions, will oversee the election and tabulate the results. Ballots with the candidates names will be provided. DC registered voters who live within the ANC 3C 04 boundaries are eligible to vote. The boundaries are east of Connecticut Avenue from Macomb St. to Quebec St. For exact boundaries please go to the ANC 3C web site and click on Commissioners.

Tree Requesting Time
The D.C. Urban Forestry Administration's ("UFA's") tree planting season runs from October through April. If you know of a tree box or a public space near you in need of a new tree, be sure to submit a request through the Mayor's Citywide Call Center at 202.727-1000. You can also submit a request through the Call Center for trees in need of pruning or, sniff sniff, removal. For further information, check out the UFA's Planting, Pruning and Removal guidelines.
Draft Truck Routes
Check out the draft truck and tour bus routes based on recommendations from the Mayor's Task Force on Truck and Tour Bus Traffic.
