Environmental Justice Committee (EJ) Meeting [Confirmed]

The Environmental Justice Committee (EJ) meeting for ANC3C is normally held second Tuesday at each month beginning at 6:30pm online. All are welcome to hear the issues. No decisions are made at this meeting. Please visit anc3c.org for updates prior to the meeting. The community is welcome to send agenda items to the chair at 3C04@anc.dc.gov (Roric McCorristin)

In January, the D.C. State Board of Education unanimously endorsed the “Green New Deal for Schools,” a proposal brought forward by student activists from the School Without Walls. (For background, please see recent reporting from The Washington Post and The Washington Informer.) We have invited the students to the March meeting of the Environmental Committee to present their proposal and discuss ways the community might support them as they seek to move legislation through the D.C. Council.

  • Presentation by students from School Without Walls about their “Green New Deal for Schools” proposal, followed by a discussion about next steps

Advisory Neighborhood Commission 3C serves the neighborhoods of Cleveland Park, Massachusetts Heights, Woodland-Normanstone and Woodley Park. Your ANC is an independent DC government body of duly-elected Commissioners who advise the government on a range of significant policy issues. The law requires that the recommendations of the Commission on issues and concerns on pending actions by government entities shall be given great weight by those entities.
